Challenged.
Today I had lunch with John, the founder of Lions Raw (lionsraw.org).
John, a pastor, has found a way to bring together soccer fans, uniting them regardless of belief, and impacting communities through action.
John reminded me that changing the world was about me being me and knowing my intentionality would be used by God.
It's amazing to see what happens when we don't put parameters on how He can work.

Father-Son Run
One of the joys of parenthood is the simple passing on of wisdom, care or joy. This afternoon I had the chance to do some of just that--pass on a joy in my life to Pierce.
While Wife prepped for the little man's bday, Pierce and I loaded up in the jogging stroller for a 3.5 mile trek.
The jogger hadn't been used for jogging--and, being a joy/stress reliever in my life, it was fun for Peanut and I to get to take off, music blaring, sharing some good times together.
Observations from our jog:
1. Revelation of the great share, prompting said blog.
2. Nostalgia about my own father sharing his joys with me (working outside).
3. Exhaustion. Pushing a jogger for 3.5 miles is hard flipping work.

Published.
Almost a year ago, a good friend, former mentor and trusted advisor (who happened to drive a first car that resembled some failed droid from Episode IV: A New Hope) passed my name along to the Editor of (ec) essential connection, a publication of Lifeway Christian Resources.
It's a youth-targeted devotional based magazine.
Mandy, the Editor, approached me and asked me to contribute to the March 2009 publication, writing about March Madness and teamwork.
Not only was I overwhelmed by the 'ask' but I was also very proud to accomplish a long-time goal: being published. Since then I have had the chance to write various other articles for (ec), covering topics like the World Series, Super Bowl, text messaging and more.
Today we bought a frame to mount and hang my first article. I hope there are many, many more down the road, with many other publications. But this one will always live as my first.
You can read the article from (ec)'s blog by clicking here.
